H & R OE SPRINGS ON A 2002 TL?
I want to lower my 2002 TL very slightly, about 1" or so. So I decided on the H & R OE Sport springs. I called a dealer here in Toronto and asked them to order it for me but they said the springs won't fit my car. The OE's are only for the 1999-2001 TL's.
So my question is, will the OE's fit a 2002TL without doing any modifications of any sort? And if not, is there any springs for my car that will give me about a 1" drop?
Since I'm asking all these questions, does any know any shops in Toronto where is can get stock shocks (or something even more comfy) for a good price?
Thanks,
A

Not sure about the Toronto area shops, but I think you would be happier with the HR Sports 50103 springs. They are a little lower but the car sits very nice with them, I love mine. I think that dealer is wrong, you should have the same setup as the 99-03 since the 50103s will fit 99-03 TLs. I'm sure the OE's would be the same.

thanks cjitty. the reason i wanted to go with the OE's is because I have a family and the car is my aily driver. I don't want to sacrifice the ride quality.
How do you find the quality of the ride with the Sport's? I know the handling is better than stock but what about the ride quality?

I have the H&R Sports on my TL-S on stock shocks, and the ride is very close to stock. I have a family too (wife, two teenage sons) and don't have any problems rubbing with all of us in the car and some groceries in the trunk. I take it easy on driveways, etc., and have yet to scrape the front (no kit).
I agree with CJITTY that you'll be happier with the Sports - the drop looks much better than the OE.

Keep in mind that the Type S's have a stiffer ride anyway than a non type s. I noticed the ride to be stiffer only on bad roads, but on smooth highway and boulevard type streets, the springs ride perfectly and the lower stance really helps the car live up to "sport sedan" status...sport sedans shouldn't have fender gap if you ask me

Been on stock struts since car birth..still rides fine with appx 50-60K miles using the HR Sports..I think I may go stock again or get the Bilsteins when its time to replace the struts. I do a lot of highway driving, so struts really don't work out too hard.

The OEs will fit just fine. I have a family as well and have the Sports. No one ever complains because the ride is damn near stock.
