Tire Size For Stock Wheels on Type S 17
Can I run 225-50-17 rather than 215-50-17
is this better for crappy weather how will 225 effect the drive rather than 215

Tire size calculator here: http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp. Generally if the overall diameter is within 3% it's fine.
In bad (snowy) weather a narrower tire is actually better. The wider the tire, the more snow it has to "plow". So, in general, for snow, 215 is better than 225.

I have used P225/50R17 and I would rub slightly on dips and bumps without people in the rear. I don't think there are really any negative effects in running this size but I feel that it is best to stay with the OEM size whenever possible.
