2001 cl-s stock to gen 3 tl-s waffle wheels?
My stock wheels are 17x7 w/55 offset. gen 3 ts-s waffle wheels are 17x8 w/45 offset. Will be using stock size pirelli p7s. How will this look and change the new combo coming out of the wheel well?

Hey guys, any help would be great.
I"m currently running 18x8 +35 wrapped on 215/40/18 and i cant seem to fit these in the back. i see i have camber wear, which looks like Toe wear to me. It rubs like crazy i had to take them off because i couldn't move the car. Any recommendations on what to do? I know fender rolling is a option, but i'd rather not. Also car is lowered on Truhart Springs and Shocks 2.5F 2.25R.
Any pointers would be very appreciated.

Rim size
All,
When purchasing rims for a car, there are several specifications to ensure a good 'fit' (ie no need to do any fender mods).
1) rim size
2) rim width
3) offset
4) bolt pattern
Rims range from 16" to 19" for our cars. Any smaller and they won't clear the OEM calipers. Any larger and you will have issues with 'rubbing'. I'm sure someone will say, "I got [XX] size to fit", but seriously -- look at their setup and most will not find that look very appealing.
Rim width and offset go hand-in-hand. Depending on your rim width, you have to watch the offset. The wider the rim, the higher the offset (so it doesn't rub up against the wheel well or plastic tabs of the fender when you hit a bump).
Our TL/TLS come with 6.5" rims with +55 offset, made my Enkei. General rule (but not always the case since there is some variation among manufacturers):
7" rim = +42 offset
7.5" rim = +45 offset
8" rim = +48 offset
> 8.5" rim ... forget it unless you wanna do some custom bodywork for it to fit.
This is only a guideline, not an end-all, be-all. Those who have done suspension work may have to find a higher offset than that posted to make sure their application will not have any problems.
Lastly, bolt pattern -- our cars have 5x114.3JJ bolt pattern. Luckily, many rim manufacturers make this bolt pattern but offset will be your limiting factor.

Hi,
I just want to know if I can put 20 in. rim's on my car. I have a 2003 Acura TL 3.2l would they fit or would I have to put a lift kit.

Hi, I'm look to to buy this wheel for my 2015 Acura TLX:
1) rim size: 17 in
2) rim width: 7 in
3) offset: 40
4) bolt pattern: 5x114.3
while the original is
1) rim size: 17 in
2) rim width: 7.5 in
3) offset: 50
4) bolt pattern: 5x114.3
it's on 255/55r 17 tires.
will the new wheels affect handling with 10mm difference in offset?

Are you really running 255/55 R17 tires? I think the spec for your car is more like 225/55 R17.
If you are really running 255/55 R17 tires and you then swap to a wheel with a 40 offset you are probably going to run the risk of the tires hitting the fenders under some driving conditions.

I've just about given up on this message board. Had a bad experience sending money to a member and no part received. First transaction was good then I got hosed the second time. Not to mention since then have limited replies to the posts that I have written.
However in reference to this post, I would suggest www.1010tires.com. Then go to the tire calculator link. Based on my zip code I prefer quiet non-directional summer tread that are rated at least 70k. I went with the pirelli c7 cintrenio. Probably closest as you can get to the OEM michelins for the price. Good luck in your search.

So I have recently acquired a set of stock 17" rims from a 2006 TL. I'm assuming these will fit on my 2003 CL, replacing the stock 16" rims. What else do I need to fix to make the speedometer read the proper speed? I appreciate any help you can give or any direction you can point me in!

They should work with no issues, just put in the proper size tires (I'm guessing 235/45 R17).

Okay, so with these numbers, I'm assuming a 7" wheel with +45 offset will fit, since it's not as wide as a 7.5" wheel, thus making more space available from the fender and suspension (0.25" each way). My question would be would 235 width tires with the 7" +45 offset wheel without rubbing either the suspension components or fenders? I'm looking at 235/40R17, because they are very close to the stock 215/50R17 diameter. Thanks for your time.

18x8 +50
I know this thread hasn't been used in 16 years but wanted to see if anyone still checks it. I want to put 18x8 with a +50 on my car but worried they will rub the suspension or in the wheel well.
Hopefully someone sees this lol.
