Dropping & Upgrading Rims and Tires for Dummies

New user. Just got a nice 2002 black TL Type S with a factory body kit and 17' stock tires. I like everything about the car except the tires. I want to get some black rims with slightly bigger tires and drop the car just a bit.
... but I know nothing about tires, rims suspensions, etc

Could someone explain what I would need to do to make this upgrade.
And some help with definitions would be very useful:
Rim size/width
Tire size/width
Suspension adjustments
Springs
camber
offset

And any pictures showing different tire/rim sizes and drop distances would be appreciated.
I live in So Cal so any recommendation on shops that do well with Acuras would be cool too.
Thanks, Casey

Welcome!

There are numerous threads on this site that contain lots of info for what you are looking for, here is a good example: https://acurazine.com/forums/car-parts-sale-361/01-cl-s-stuff-sale-121066/

As for the photos, you need to find yourself a photo host so you can paste the URL here for everyone to view. There is a small tutorial on how this is done here: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113321

I hope you enjoy your new car!
