D2 coilovers Vs. Tanabe Pro SS which would you choose?

Hey guys.

Im going to be switching out my Omni sports soon and I wanted to go with something a little more comfortable. Im looking at the D2 and the Tanabe. Im having a little hard time figuring which one to go with. the D2 i can get cheaper about a $100 difference from the Tanabe Pro SS. The difference is the Tanabe set up is a $1200 set up vs. D2 which is a $700 set up. I can get the Tanabe for a little more but it does not come with the top hats. I would have to use stock ones.

I just need some advice on which suspension I should run. Im leaning more toward the Tanabe since it might be a little more comfortable.

Any suggestions?

anything where you have to use the stock tophats is going to give a softer ride.. Just so you know the d2 coilovers are almost identical to your omini's, just painted a different color..

agreed..

if you want something softer, i would recommend comparing the spring rates of your current setup with the spring rates offered by other coilovers to see what's softer

yeah thats what i was thinking. the D2 is actually damper adjust. I have the original Omni sports. they are the non adj ones. but they are the 12k ft and 10k rr springs. they are still going but i need something softer. the suspension does not give very much and when i hit a pot hole its sounds bad. plus i believe this is what makes the wheel bend easier. the suspension does not give so the next softest is the wheel. im leaning toward the Tanabe. they have the helper springs too.

if you go with d2's make sure they revalve shocks when you order softer spring rates.

also, i'm guessing that only the d2 is shock body adjustable? (preloading the spring and height so that you have maximum shock travel available?)

unless u do go with those softer spring rates/revalve, the tanabes will be what you want if you're daily driving.
