cross drilled vs. dimpled & slotted Rotors

OK my brakes are totally gone and I need new rotors like yestarday. Sounds like I'm dragging a shopping cart on its side when I apply my brakes. But If I'm going to replace the rotors Im not going to but those crapy OEM ones back on. I want something that will last more than 40,000mi this time. (and if they look good well thats even better)
so Im stuck with having a daily driver (that gets alot lot of milage and while I dont race its not uncommon to go over 100 on the parkway) and a budget.
would love to get a nice big brake kit but its just not gonna happen $$$
does anyone know if there is much of a differance between slotted/dimpled rotors and cross drilled. I saw this link ( http://turboimport.com/catalog/acura_cl_tl.htm )for a full set of zinc coated slotted/dimpled rotors at $299
I've seen on tire rack just slotted "power slot" rotors for $400
and then some plain rotoras and irotors (which are nice but no drilling no dimpling and no slots for a couple of bucks less)

i'd be interested in hearing your comments on the subject. and any advice where to get nice looking rotors with great stopping power on sale.

also has anyone puschased from turboimport.com being thats kind of what Im leaning towards
