coilover question

what are the more popular coilovers used for this car? i recently installed tein springs and discovered that i need to replace the struts, plus im just not really feeling the drop i got. should i spend the money on oem struts and another set of springs? or just switch to coilovers? how is the ride quality of coiloers compared to lowering springs? all help is appreciated. thank you...

if you're not liking the height of the springs, replacing the struts will not help your cause.

coilovers are adjustable, and you can set them to your liking.
there are several reputable companies to buy coilovers from including Tein.

if you buy a set with dampening control, you can easily adjust comfort.

Not true. If you buy the koni yellow sp3? they have 5 adjustable perches for height adjustment. Best shock made

Yea it honestly all depends on what you want. Personally, i think coilovers are the best way to go. You have the option of adjusting the height plus with springs its a set height so you cant adjust the height. With coilovers though the ride quality depends on the brand. A good number of people get function&form coilovers because of the price and quality and adjustability. They give you a wide range of adjustability, have good ride quality and are affordable. Although im biased because i have a set of them id recommend coilovers either way.

If you buy the Koni yellow sp3 shocks you wont have to buy new springs, the Konis have adjustable perches to adjust the ride height even further.

And where he lives (as other members have found out and posted about) the salt and sand from winter use can take a toll on the coilovers making them impossible to adjust after a short time Its one of the reasons i wont run them where i live. Its happened to mine in the past.

Youre right, i completely overlooked his location when i posted that. Plus he said he just wanted to eliminate wheel gap and not be slammed so hes probably better off going the other way. Was just putting in my two cents

The new TEIN Street Basis is a great street coilover. They offer ride height adjustment, firmer but not stiff ride quality, and a 1 year warranty.

I would say yes they are. But only because they are easier to bottom out thus risking blowing out the shock. Stock shocks have a lot of suspension travel and can take quite a beating.
