your kidding, its not in the DIY master list?

unless your new units come installed with their springs AND new tophat, you will need a spring compressor
Might be able to put the new ones together without it..maybe

If transferring the top hats- you need a good `spring compressor` and air gun/compressor
Try to let the top nut off with the springs loaded under pressure,, and at a minimum -
a 4 hour visit to the Emergency Room will follow~
No way to tighten the top on without the spring compressed

Also have to seperate the lower U fork on the current struts and move to the new ones

to me, as a retired tech who always disliked strut jobs and the danger of the spring compressor itself--pay the 200 bucks and let someone else take the risk

When I orderd my Tein SS, I had them fully assembled with new tophats by MrheelToe.
pulled the old struts out, swapped in complete new units
Get the height set where it clears the tires to fenderlip and go for alignment

short answer- you need the right tools for the job

It should come with tophats already attached...take a look at it.

If so, no need for spring compressor. Remove spring/strut assembly and install new. Good luck!

What about torque specs?
It will be nice to have a diy with photos including camber kit installation

DIY- figure out where bolts holding rear seats are located and remove seat back and bottem
remove bolts for strut

front= remove bolt holding U shaped fork from shock to suspension at bottem and remove it from strut after removal from car
remove brake line from strut!!
remove top bolts and pushing down on steering arm with big prybar, lower and remove strut assembly

yea I was quoted $200 bucks for the install...and I said screw that.

the F&F are already assemblied. All you have to do is take you old spring/strut assembly out and put the new ones in. You can still follow the DIY on the spring and strut install. Just skip the compressing spring part. Everything else is bolt on. I'm going to install mine sunday.

This installation is a cinch. Nothing more than a few bolts at ea. end. I do not know your mechanic ability, brakes and suspension are generally among the easiest. This may not be the exact route for your chassis, just a guideline.

I'm sure you can search and find a model specific one - here's a link to a coilover install

Coils are cake man...just look at the DIY for springs and shocks but don't even worry about getting a spring compressor or removing the tophats because your coils already comes with the tophats on it, it's a straight swap all the way around.

since your installing a full coilover, everything will be a bolt off bolt on affair, take your old assembly of in 1 whole, then re-install as a whole. It will be one unit - like so, as I did to my wifes accord

I did not need no spring compressor to remove the factory struts.
I did undo the upper ball joint so I had the needed room to remove.

The coilover will install easyier since you can start with them lowered.
Install = EASY
getting right height the way you want = PITA

You will spend more time getting them to your liking than you will spend on the install.

IIRC, Type1 doesn't have damping adjustment. Only Type2.

nope it is pretty easy. All you have to do is take the end link bolt out and upbolt the strut housing and...... tadaah!!!!! You do not have to take off the sway bar. You are going to need like a jack or something like that to move the rear control arm (i think thats what it is but you'll see) up to line up the bolt. Besides that, thats it..

I would say a little snugger then hand tight. I didn't used a torque wrench we just used a "breaker" bar and after we hand tighten it just gave a little trun with the "breaker" bar which turned it about 1/3 or so of a turn if not a little more, but if you can find torque specs I would say go to the local auto parts store (ie: autozone) and rent the torque wrench.

see if you can get the exact size of it and maybe go to a honda dealership instead of acura and see if they have that bolt.
