Yokohama YK580

After a lot of research I settled on this set. All season performance is what I was looking for. Already rained around here and tires held up as advertised cutting through puddles large and small. They also are sticky like a performance tire should be. The sidewalls are a little soft but time should stiffen them up. The tread pattern looks modern and the side of the tire fits nice with the overall appearance of the car. The braking is much improved over the last set. Last but not least they are quiet and the corner better than I had hoped.

Other tires I considered.
Michelin Primacy MXV4
Yokohama Avid Envigor
Hankook Optimo H727
Dunlop Sp Sport Signature

#2 choice was the Dunlops.

Been using them for years since the Old model YK520...
My other choice was the S.Drive´s but I could not live with the shorter thread life.

I just moved to the YK580's from two sets of Conti's DSW which were all replaced after getting to 2/32 in about 12 months. So far the YK580 have handled well,, including in water..

^^Answering my own question, just had the first snowfall of the year. tires performed probably like any other all season tire out there. They held better to the road in the slush and did decent on a packed down cold slippery road.

I like the way they held up and still would recommend these to anyone looking for a very nice all season tire.

As always drive slow and be a defensive driver. Not to be confused with offensive.

Purchased Yoko-YK580 Friday

Got a set Friday to replace my Conti-DWS which I only got about 35k miles. Discount Tire honored the pro-rated Conti warranty and credited me towards the Yoko-YK580. Couldn’t find any feedback from Tire Rack on this model.
Overall I did like the Conti except for the flat spotting in the morning for a couple of miles in cold weather, but was excellent on wet pavement & not bad in a little snow. They just didn’t last the 50k maybe because of my driving. I went up to a 245 tire size from the OEM 235 on the Yoko.
So far they ride & handle close to a Michelin touring tire. They are a little loose around curves but the ride and overall handling on wet pavement is just as good as the Conti. These are rated for 45k miles so we’ll see if that’s true if I decide to keep them. I got 30 days to figure that out from discount tire. I would go back to the Conti DWS if I do an exchange.

Tire rack doesn`t sell them only discount tire does. They were loose for me also when I bought them but tightened up after 1000 miles.

These the Conti and the Michelins are the best all-season on the market. I`m very pleased with how these drive in rain, wet conditions and cold. Snow I give them barely a passing grade.

After 15,000 miles have got even wear and are at about 80%+ tread on them.

After 30,000 miles the guys who installed them said the tires have worn evenly and sit at 7/10ths of there original tread depth.

I picked up a set of yk580's after the Michelin pilot a/s plus' went bad this past March (one flat, one bubbled on the sidewall) I prefer the 580's and after the snow this past winter in chicago, I didn't get stuck in the alley. Light snow they handle but I'm always a defensive driver. Rain they are solid. Ebay has them shipped for $580 through discount tire (235/45/17, I was told it was a discount tire direct exclusive tire)
