Advice on replacement tires?

Hi,

I'm looking to replace the tires I have on my TL-S rims. I found Michelin HX MXM4's in 215/50R/17s on sale at Sears for $189. These tires IMO are okay, nothing great so I'm open to ideas on other replacement tires.

I wanted to get MXV4's like the tires that came with my stock 16's but they don't make them in this size. I liked those tires because they were very quiet and provided a smooth ride. They also didn't wear fast as fast as the MXM4's.

Can anyone recommend other tires that have the above qualities? Should I just stick with the MXM4's?

I've had great luck with the General UHP. They're made by Continental in Germany and are a great value. They also perform as well as any tire I've had, including Michelin, Dunlop, Pirelli and Yokohama. Outstanding wet traction, grat grip and so far, excellent tread life.

Highly recommended !!

Check out the Tirerack.com. They have lots of reviews and good info on tires. There are alot of tires that are better than the ones you have listed for less money.

Search the other posts. Lots of people are very happy with the Yokohama Avid V4s. Very quiet, better grip, better looks. Overall, a much better tire than the Michelins. And its a LOT cheaper !!!

Just got the Yokohama Avid V4s installed today. Ordered them from Tirerack. They sure feel better than the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S I had on there before. Smooth ride, crisp response, tight cornering, and VERY quiet.

Got the 225/50/R17 on the stock TL-S wheels.

I have Yokohama ES100's ready to mount on my new 18' wheels. These tires are said to be awesome. These are the same tires the Acura driving school uses at Mid-Ohio and that come on RL's A-Specs.

I just got my Yokohamas' from tire rack and I love these tires. I had some pirellies on there but there dont compare to the V4's. Plus tire rack was almost 35% cheaper then the local shops. Cant complain about that next day shipping either. Well to VA anyway.

they become noisy fairly quick and the tread wear isnt that good. For the price they are good though

I could not pass them up. I paid $200 for four of them off a 2006 RL A-Spec that had 300 miles on it. The Acura techs that work behind our dealership took them off becuase the LADY who owned the RL wanted Michelins. Her loss is my gain. I was going to purchase Toyo Proxy 4's but these came up in the exact size I needed for my new 18' wheels. Sometimes working at a dealership and knowing others that do the same has its benifits.

I have been doing some research on tires lately and although not the cheapest, they have great reviews. One think I will never nickle and dime is my tires. They are what keeps you on the road and in control. I think they are fairly priced for the quality of the tire. I need all seasons and these came out on top.

Just got Bridgestone Turanzas...

...from Tire Rack for my 02 TL. I like em and they got great reviews, so I am optimistic they will be as good after 50K miles as they have been after 1K. (Got 75K miles out of the originals!!)
