i just got my car back from the acura dealer and the lip of the rim is flaking. damn salt on the roads. so now i have to get new rims. ahh shucks.

I have been tossing about the idea of some chromie OEMs for my 2003. Any idea of the weight difference bet. 'em and the non-chrome?

I kept a sponge and rubbermaid dishwashing gloves with me in my car so I could spray my wheels down at least once a week while I was in Minnesota with the salt..here in CO, they use mag chloride which still needs to be washed off. I would go to the power spray wash and basically do a quick rinse of the car and get the sponge out and glove since it was so cold out, to wipe down my wheels. Spraying them helps, but to eliminate concerns about corrosion, you have to spray, wipe with sponge and then rinse to make sure you get it all off.

How often did you clean your wheels?

i clean them all the time usually once a week but it has been a few weeks since my last cleaning then i brought my car into acura for some tranny work and they washed my car without asking. and it had flakes comeing off of it.

im not really mad it forces me to get new wheels.
