Accord lower tie bar

quick question, i was just looking around on the internet for suspension parts for my 99. will a 99-01 accord v6 lower tie bar fit our cars?

02type-s 06-08-2009 01:35 PM

The rear lower tie bar? I have wondered that myself.

aww, no moar hood jokes =(

Update us with this mod when u get it done.

kuni808 06-14-2009 06:26 AM

I thought there was a member that already did this mod? The accord one does fit from what I remember from that post. You need to get a major alignment after since it bolts to the toe adjustment bolts. I remember the member was saying to make sure you alight it right after because his toe was completely off. This bar is suppose to make the rear suspension response more. It should fit if I recall correctly. I just never did it cause my alignment cost more than the bar. haha.

joseph_99tl 06-14-2009 07:05 AM

i have this bar.
the only thing i don't like is u don't a full threading thru the nut as it did without the bar.

What are you saying? You don't have a full threading?

He means after you put the bar on, the nut doesnt get as far down on the bolt because of the brace.

jjashaa 06-14-2009 01:10 PM

^ oh hey.. it does fit..

cool...

slvrcrunch 06-14-2009 06:54 PM

joseph 99tl, is it worth putting on? can you feel any difference with it?

Did the bar increase the handling characteristics of your car much? Does the rear feel tighter and more connected in turns?

slvrcrunch 06-15-2009 09:58 PM

id say keep it chrome. chrome and white go good together. what color were you thinking of?

nf3d0149ab 06-16-2009 10:53 PM

Interesting...good to know.

Thanks for the info.

No worries friend, we all make typos. Just needed some clarification.

AMGala 06-17-2009 03:25 PM

slvrcrunch, have you upgraded your rear sway bar? If not, you should do that first. And if money is an issue, you can get a RSB for the 3G TL-S from the dealership. It will fit (you will need new bushings and brackets also) and it's a good improvement over stock.

jjashaa 06-17-2009 10:55 PM

im gonna have to try this again when i have light...

mine isn't straight like the one pictures although i ordered one that was straight... in the picture.. :annoyed:

mine didn't fit.. progress RSB was in the way and... my fat ATLP pipes. haha

nf3d0149ab 06-17-2009 11:01 PM

It isn't straight but in the picture it was advertised as being straight...?

Is it bent?

jjashaa 06-17-2009 11:03 PM

:monocle: Ah...I see...

jjashaa 06-17-2009 11:10 PM

yea.. apparently.. buyer doesn't take returns... but oh well. it was only $30 something....

nf3d0149ab 06-17-2009 11:17 PM

The positive thing is your "out of pocket" expense isn't too much.

You could probably sell it locally.
