My 1999 has 206k miles on it. It runs fantastic and I want to give it to my girlfriend who travels 800 miles (round trip) to visit me twice a month. Yes, she's awesome!

Any thoughts on how to fix this problem and what would you recommend for a decent none winter tire. Will probably get her winter specific tires next season.

Have a shop remount the tires. Sounds like they arent making a good seal.

Have you tried to find a possible leak? Little bit of windex or dish soap+water in a spray bottle can help. Cracked sidewalls, bad valve stems, vandalism etc can happen. If you are near a costco and are a member, have them check it out. As long as tires are good, they will balance, fix punctures (only on tread) and fill with nitrogen as well.

 

The tires a definitely dry rotted and cracking so no doubt that is causing the leaking.

Any thoughts on a decent, reasonably priced tire for this car that doesn't have to be good in the snow since gf has a RAV 4 with AWD? She not a speed demon so I'm not looking for low pro just a good reliable tire.

 

Bridgestone G 019 Grid is a fairly decent tire. Brothers car has them and he loves them. A friend recommended Falken tires, but I've never used them before. Kumho is nice as well, but they have been going up in price since the last time I purchased them.
