2G TL-S Alignments

So I've got an '07 3G TL-S and a 2G '02 TL-S.

I know the 3G is senstive to Toe Alignment and it doesn't take much to knock it out. Whether that's because of the sport springs or not, I'm not sure, but I do know that a couple of pothole whacks and the Toe goes out.

But the 2G, which is a totally stock suspension, I don't ever remember having it go out of alignment.

Here's the question: The 2G IS out of aligment now. Is it worth it to get one of 3-year deals? It's ~$79 to have it done once or ~$139 for the 3-year deal.

What's your opinion and experience? Will the 2G hold an alignment long enough so that the $79 one-off is the better deal?

TIA

I think its worth it. I pay to have mine does once a year. Every year they are bringing it back into spec (though i do manage to average close to 50k miles)

We're only doing about 10k miles per year on that car. It'll be nine years old on 12/31 and it's got just under 90k on right now.

BTW - I bought it new, so when I say I don't remember having to ever have an alignment, that's over the whole 9 years.

I've got an '03 TL-S and just got a first time alignment with a lifetime warranty for $139 from firestone. >65k on the car and the tires on the front end were really nasty (not originals, of course, maybe 12K on them) with a little metal showing by the time I realized it. Steering wheel was shaking a little, too. NYC potholes are killers. I'd go for the extra money if your streets suck.

I wish I could get an alignment for $79. Where are you guys going? Every place I go to they charge me just over $100 for a single alignment with about a 1 month warranty. The reasoning behind the high price is they say, "Your car is lowered and calls for a special type of an alignment".

Glad this subject came up...is there any places to avoid getting alignments at due to crappy alignment machines vs. good places to go with high tech alignment machines?

Any thing special about aligning Hondas/Acuras I need to be aware of?

I've always gone to a local Firestone store near the house and gotten good alignments, but I've not had the TL aligned anywhere yet.

I've been going to a local Tire Kingdom/NTB. They seem to do fine. And my 3G is lowered anthe they don't give me any crap.

I think it's place by place and depends on mgmt and the professionism of the techs.

As far as special: No camber adjsutment and no rear caster adjustment. So if your camber is out, you either have to live with it (which normally you can with a GOOD toe alignment) or get a camber kit if it's wayyy out.

^^ That bit is true FOR SURE on the 3G; I'm not positive about the 2G, but pretty sure.

Ugh...there are such douchebags here at the local tire places. I think I just found a local shop that only works on Hondas and Acuras (specializes on NSX's). I'm going to take it there. I went to Tires Plus about a year ago when I got new tires...they told me they couldn't put my car on the alignment rack because it was too low....AFTER THEY MOUNTED THE TIRES!!!!

I told them to take them off, because I wasn't paying for tires that weren't aligned.
