Lightbulb ARE 20's reality for the TL?

Im sure a million sob's are gonna say thats stupid but is it possible to squat 20's on the tl? I have a 99tl and i dont really want to get 19's is its possible to go stuntastic and drop the TL on dubs. I swear iv seen someone's whip on this site before on 20's.......

alright everyone have at it.........what you think?

i have 20's.. comming from somone who owns take it from me.. stay away!! imo the ride sucks ass and they rub a lil on bumps and turns.. and its hard to find 20s that dont rub which means you most likely will be sitting on stock springs which looks like ass.. thats my short lil anylasis on 20s.. thank u...

yup its possible, and been done by some members on this site too...i'd recommend a 20x7.5 with high offset like 45 or 48 or along those lines if you really wanted to get a 20 inch wheel, so that you can help prevent some rubbing especially when you're dropped...i saw some foose speedsters in 20 inches on a black in the tires/wheels/suspension forum...looked pretty sick...but i'd say just go with a 19 because the 20 is gonna rub...later

You will need something custom if you want 20s to fit reasonably. Some have done it ... you're either gonna like you're driving a 4x4 ... OR ... you will need to tuck the wheels (ie huge negative camber) to get them to fit. It's been tried ... but most applications don't look right.

As others have already said ... go with 19s and save yourself the headache with 20s.

20's will just destroy the look of our cars. its not sick and wont look right. they all got bashed and later on they started complaining about their rides too. even 19's will rub if not done right so i think you should try to stay safe as possible. stick with the proper 19 setup and you wont regret later.

IMO, 19s are the maximum for a 99-03 TL. Yea, I know 20s will fit but like most have already said, it will not look right.

BTW, I have 19s on mine with a drop and people think they're 20s.

i have 20s on my car n its dropped with h&r sport springs n koni struts the rides is ok but any car is not going to ride like stock when ur riding on small tires n even dropped. I like how my car looks with the rims they r 20x7.5 w/ a 42mm offset they do rub alil but i havent cut the tabs or rulled the fenders yet. if u search under my name n searsh threads posted some pics might come up but they were be4 it was lowered.

if you wanna spend the money, anything is possible. i got 20's on my whip, and i think it looks pretty cool. its gonna be hard to find an off the rack 20" wheel, you wil probably have to get something custom...

REV-01 ... never ceases to amaze me at how the pushes the limit on rims. I think he's got a set of rims for his TL-S (aka Inspire) for each day of the week. 20"x9" in the rear?! You've got photographic evidence it can be done ... but I can bet there is negative camber in the back and I know for sure REV-01 has the fenders rolled and plastic tabs trimmed.

I can only imagine how hard a ride it is on bumpy roads.

well i always like to try something new. if you compare the pics of this 20 with all my other 19" and 18" from shows you will actually notice that the 20 is not extreme cambered like my 19" i always used a full 25mm spacer to push it out before, but this time i want to go back to the "normal" look. the camber setting at the rear is the same as the front this time.

i am sure you will understand why i want 20's since i have a few sets 19's. to be honest when i put the 20" on it makes my 19" looks small

I tried but it wasn't worth it. 20x7.5 RVM DAGG's prob wasn't the best way to go. I was rubbin on every turn and bump.I have no custom suspension tho either.
I got some 18's on my whip now.It handles great and best of all!!!.....no rubbin!
