1999-01 stock rims chrome plated...?
#2
The stock rims basically suck and are boring, IMO and definitely are not worth investing good money on "chrome plating" them. For that kind of money, ya could buy some nice used 17" or 18" custom rims. Check the "Black Market" sub-forum for some deals on used rims to fit your TL.

Chrome on your car would take the focus away from the white car.
After Market is a good choice or you can sand down and repaint your rims. Sanding and painting your rims you get to basically choose your color silver..etc etc. But its a lot of work.

Took all the clear coat off these also because of super oxidation. I am going to keep these and maybe paint them silver to show off the drilled and slotted rotors and calipers.

I think chrome plating will make it look even sweeter. I agree with "3.2TLc" that for the price of chrome plating you can buy nice used rims but I understand if you just REALLY like the factory rims and just want to make them look even shinier. Just always make sure with used rims that you try to maybe take them to a shop (if possible) to check for microscopic cracks that may cause slow leaks.

If you like the factory wheels and just want them shinny it would be way cheaper to polish them out you self. Its a lot of work I can't lie but would be a lot cheaper. you can get the metal center caps from and RL and polish them to match. You would really need to get a set to send off if you wanted them chromed. Personally I'm not a fan of chrome!
