This is wierd.. radio cuts out when acelerating
Hi Tler's :
It seems I'm having to post more and more problems recently, mayby its time to trade it in....
Anyway, whenever I come to a stop and acelerate away, the radio cuts out for 2-4 seconds. I thought it might be the ignition switch reacting to the weight of the keys, but after replacing the switch with under the recall, it still dies.
Any ideas from anyone on this wacky problem ?
Many thanks to all who reply.

I agree, this sounds like a loose wire issue.
When the sound cuts out, does the radio display go out as well? Does this only happen with CDs/broadcast radio/tape?
To my knowledge, the radio sends its audio output to the equalizer who equalizes the signal and sends it back to the radio, who then sends it to the 4 speakers (while the equalizer sends the bass output to the amplifier who then amps it up & throws it to the sub). So if that equalizer isn't functioning properly, you might not get any audio at all. If the amp isn't, you might just miss out on bass. And of course if the actual radio isn't sending anything to the EQ, you won't get anything.

Problem Resolved !!!!!
Hi All :
While replacing the ignition switch last week, I needed to remove the live side of the battery cable. While I was moving the cable out of the way, I noticed that part of the battery cable is a big fusable link inside a clear plastic holder had come unscrewed. I scewed it back together and guess what ? No more radio cut out. I guess this link is part of the power supply for the radio and was making intermittent contact.
I thought is was something weird....and it was !
