I used to have this problem turned out to be the endlinks - could be different for you...

Inside of the endlink there was no more oil - on the outside all was good.

CV joint would be the FIRST suspect.. happens to all FWD cars eventually, and its symptoms are exactly what you described.

It could be the CV joints. However i used to own a 2005 Impala and it had the same problem, except the problem was a shitty ISS (Intermediate Steering Shaft) Under warrenty it could be replaced, but a quick fix was to spray a can of white grease under the ISS boot. I dunno if our cars have something like that. If not, get the CV joints checked.

Got_3.2?,

Sounds pretty much like the classic bad outer CV joint. If you turn the steeing wheel full lock right you can get a look at the boot (looks like a rubber bellow) at the center, inside of the wheel. It is likely torn, has leaked grease and damaged the joint. The easiest repair is to replace the complete 1/2 shaft with a remanufactured unit. The CV joint can be replaced but the effort to remove the shaft, disassemble and repair the joint then reinstall is usually more than a complete lifetime warranted 1/2 shaft assembly.
