Wheel vibration still with new wheels, tires, and coilovers

Hey guys, I've got 02 TL type S, (no nav). I know the cars getting old but a few weeks ago I started to get a vibration in the wheel around 50 mph. I thought no big deal, need a balance. Got it done and it helped a little but I was satisfied. The next week had to travel out of town and on the way back hit a moon crater in Indianapolis. Cracked the two front wheels, (17" ×7 vision autobahn) and needless to say it was vibrating pretty sporadically after that and I was sure I knew the problem. So yesterday my replacement wheels came in and I decided to throw new rubber all the way around on the car because it was getting about that time anyway. I still have the shake at about 50 but it isnt consistent, sometimes worse then others very randomly. Usually smooths out around 70 mph but not always. I have all three motor mounts and both tranny mounts ordered and on their way so I can swap those out next week. Long overdue for that but I really dont imagine the shaking I'm getting could be from the engine mounts, it's not coming from the engine bay, it's coming from my feet and the wheel. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have another matching TL type S with Nav I've been using as a donor when I can. Thanks

Hey Thoiboi, what should someone be looking out for when they check their axles in this situation? I'm experiencing a serious vibration as well, but it matches word-for-word with the symptoms of bad tires. My tires are almost bald now anyhow, so I'm getting new ones put on this week, but I figured I'd check my axles when I have the time over the weekend. Any pointers?

I had the same exact issues and after an alignment and 2 new sets of tires the culprit turned out to be the CV joints especially since it's only happening at a certain range of speed. Once I replaced those it was smooth as butter again Whoever does the work can check the axles while there in there but it's pretty hard to break them and your car would be vibrating at all speeds if this were the case. Good luck.

Was really hoping it was as simple as the axles, I've now replaced those as well with no difference. I did although put the OEM wheels back on and the shake is much much less severe. So I decided to do a test and put the A.M wheels on two different cars just to be absolutely sure and on both cars they were smooth as butter. Dont know what this is and its driving me crazy, I'm about to just order a front end kit and replace the whole front end in one shot. The wheels have very little difference in size from the OEM so I dont know why now, after a year with no problem on these wheels they seem to exaggerate the problem so drastically. Been driving on the OEM for about 4 days now and have been noticing it slowly getting worse with those on now too....

I'm almost certain it's the CV assembly. How many miles on your car?

When I said I just replaced both axles that's what I meant, brand new OEM cv axles on both sides
