Tune Up...what To Do???

I have a gold 02 TL...w/86k miles....
Never had tune up done. Only oil changes.
I feel the front ends are pretty shaky when driving around 50-60miles and also; when breaking, It shakes like crazy. I know it could be the brakes or the balljoints. Don't know.
When I accelerate, the car does not pick up fast like it use to. something is definitely wrong.
Really, the car does not feel right at all!!! mad disappoited with its current performance.

Will be going to a mechanic, but i need to know what should i buy on my own because i don't want them to put crap in the car. I'd rather buy my stuff and give it to them to put in.

Let me know ASAP ppls!!!

u doing up alone or u doing the brakes too?

a tune usually consist of distributor cap, rotor botton, plug wires, and plugs. So i'm guessing all u would need is to get some Ngk plugs since the TL dont use distributor cap, rotor botton, or plug wires.

if you have never change out the transmission oil, have it change. My old car (98 Accord)pulls like crazy after a 82K transmission oil change.

if your car shakes like crazy when you hit 50-60MPH it sounds more like an alignment issue and possibly your tires need to be balanced also. Getting new plugs wouldn't hurt and alos look into sea foam to clean your entire engine. it really works and is cheap. new air filter and tranny fluid drain and fill(don't do a flush).

open the manual, look at what to do at certain mileages and do that. your getting close to the magical 100k hoopla, plus if nothing has been changed or replaced, i'd bet your brakes are done, rotors probably also. have the fluid flushed also.

i completely back what these guys said

front end alignment for the 50mph shakes, new brakes and rotors for the braking shakes and new plugs and tranny fluid change. and seafoam. definitely seafoam. and a fuel filter......

what's up Rick? nice to see you on.

Hopefully not a silly question but does the 99 3.2 TL just need spark plugs? Or does it need wires, rotor, etc..........

just plugs. Open your hood and look for plug wires
