So I have two 02 TL type S, a little while ago I took the trunk lid off the donor and put it on the daily because it was in way better shape (body filler cracking and chipping off the top). As you can see it's out of place, I've tried making what adjustments I can think of and it's not making a difference, both of them lined up and shut with no problems before the swap, I have very little experience with body work so any suggestions would be great. Attached a couple pics for reference. Thanks

The attachment below shows the Trunk Lid Adjustment procedure for a CL.

Your TL should not vary that much, so it should apply somewhat and/or give you a little more info. It looks like adjusting the 'trunk lid stopper', #5 on the link below may help with the lower side.
