IS THIS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM!?!? (yes, ive read other threads)

I had my front two axles replaced about a week ago
everything was perfect, no vibrations on acceleration no clicking no grinding. nothing

drove to SB, about a 100 mile trip from my place. Coming back the next day, car was perfectly fine

10 minutes before I got home, I smelled burning oil/tar.
Stopped the car at a shopping center, and fumes were coming out from behind the driver side tire.

Let the car cool off, poped the hood, nothing. no leaks no fumes, no drips, no oil. NOTHING. withing those 5 minutes there was a puddle of oil around the tire

it wasnt red or green, it was dark brownish color oil.
being a saturday, and long weekend, shop's were closed. took it to EZ LUBE, the guy checked all oil levels, engine, trans, brake, power steering, and told me that everything is level.

It could be that axle boot is damaged/torn and it leaked.

Took it back to the shop who installed axles, they took it out and checked it, infront of my eyes. no leaks form axle, no tear no damage, it was still brand new. They cleaned all the oil leaks from under the car, and we went for a test drive.

Came back around second time, more dripping oil!
and even now, all oil levels are fine!

they couldn't figure it out, told me to take it to a specialist or dealer.

Driving off from there, within a few minutes, my car started to give weird symptons of which i am afraid to say, could be transmission crapping out?

20-40mph, slow acceleration, easy driving, it starts to kick the car back and forth

my D5 is not blinking, no check engine, or maintence light is flashing

dealer test drove it 4 times, "COULD NOT RECREATE PROBLEM"
5th time they test drove it with me, and still nothing.

but just when im leaving, its happening again!
and it seems to be getting more violent every time!

I explained it to the dealer mechanic, and he told me that it could be transmission

he also said, transmission fluid is dirty, but changing it at this milage (84K), is a gamble of getting better results or totaly killing the tranny

ANYONE EVER HAVE THIS PROBLEM??? O_o

back and forth kicks at 20-40mph at slow acceleration
and no flashing D5 or check engine lights

^^^ I'm not 100% sure, but it sounds like you need to take it to the stealership ASAP.

i took it there, they couldnt re-create problem. and i cant blame them. cuz we test drove it together. and it didnt happen.

i described it to them very detailed. and they said, it could very well be transmission

there are no error codes popping up!
no other signs!
the leaking stopped
but the violent shifts are still there

Well, you just have to go with the shifts, then! They felt the violent shifts, so that should be enough to raise questions about the tranny.

If not...I guess you just have to keep driving on it!?

When you see the leak on the ground get underneath the car with a flashlight if need be and find the leak. It has to be coming from somewhere on the car, it doesn't just magically appear. Pay close attention to where the CV axle inserts into the transmission.

Probably because it leaked it most of it out already. You said you found puddles on more than one occasion. That would lead me to believe that wherever the fluid's from is now nearly or completely empty.

Could you tell what oil or fluid that was or where it was leaking from?
