Throttle Response changes after oil change!

Hey AC members, I've been on this site for sometime now and just about to get my '99TL into tip top shape. I had to change quite a few things when I bought it from the dealer but it wasn't too expensive and he installed them for free of course.

My question in in regards to throtle response (pushing on gas padel). I've had the car since Dec '06 and I've had two oil changes. For about a couple weeks after the oil change the accelerate very rapidly, even with light touches on the gas. However, about about a month or so it seems as though the quick response that I had after the oil change seems to be gone or back to normal.

WTF! Does anyone know what's going on? After oil changes my car seems to have a new life but a few weeks later that quick response I got in the throtle seems to be gone. I'm not sure if its my plugs b/c I get a very quick and smoth start up.

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

I WANT MY BABY TO PUR EVERYDAY, NOT JUST EVERY COUPLE MONTHS.

Lube the Throttle and cruise control cables and throttle assembly
Clean the throttle body internals
Do a Seafoam treatment
Install NGK Iridium (platinum ok too) spark plugs

What is the name of the oil and weight 5/20 5/30 ???

Its the standard oil I believe 5W30, '99s you don't have to use synthetics so I just use reguar oil

You dont have to use synthetics but they are better for the motor and hold up longer. There is nothing ecu wise or mechanically controlled that would cause what your feeling just because you got new oil. Try switching to synthetic and see if it changes the way it feels

FamusFace,

There are those that sense small changes in their cars, and then there are the “others” that don’t.

This is a controversial topic, even among oil enthusiasts (www.BITOG.com).

I, too, am able to detect the difference. The solution for me is to use Mobil1 Synthetic and change it every 3000 miles. Normal folks (the “others” that I referenced) will scream that it is NOT necessary to change synthetic oil anywhere near that often. But, as you and I can appreciate, the fresh oil is slipperier – how much is it worth to you ?$?$?

Also, be sure to use relatively thin oil. Use nothing heavier than a ?w30 oil. For me, my Summer blend is a 50%/50% blend of Mobil1 5w20 and 5w30 (both Synthetic).
