TCS activates all the time!!!

Everytime I start from a stand still, the TCS activates itself. It is so freakin annoying. I already had an alighment done. The last shop that installed my XS headers overtightened my O2 sensor to where it fell off. I had it weld on last week. 2000 TL with 93458 miles, dropped with Teins H-tech no camber kits install.

When you say it activates every time, please describe what its doing

Do you feel the brake on one side being applied to reduce wheelspeed versus the other side?
Is the yellow dash TCS light flashing when this happens or steady or on all the time?

yes just press the button on the left side of the wheel that has TCS on it......and TCS should light on the cluster......this means that you have turned off your traction control........now if it staying on at all times even if you press the TCS button......thats a different issue

I guess I'll try that first, but it does not eliminate the problem right. I have to turn it off everytime I start the car, no? It flashes when turning in either direction and when going straight from a complete stop. I can't tell which side is being activated, but the brakes are activated to slow me down.

And you're not doing burnouts right?
This is just normal human style driving on dry pavement?
Gentle accelleration as if Mom were in the car?

The default setting is ON when car is running
So dash light OFF

Sounds like speed sensor problem- giving bad or no info to computer
Done any work with the brakes or shocks recently?

Driving like a freakin soccer mom. Had new rotor installed last week. The rear shocks seem to be bad. How would that effect it?

The wire from the speed sensor to the back of the wheel is semi-delicate and can easily be pulled apart from inside its covering when work is being done.

If its not getting a signal from one side, the TCS speed computer hears- I am going 10 MPH on the left and 0 on the right = apply left brake to gain traction
TCS only works up to 18 MPH and then stops so thats why you regain control

Easy way to see which side
Toss some water in the street

If you have a set of ramps- put it up and look for a wire with black covering,
near the back of the brake backing plate, may be loose or look ok

It appears you had a shop/someone do the rotors for you, so it would be their responsibility

Or did it start after the alignment?

Check auto parts or dealer- I think someone in LA recently had same prob and it was $35

Check the wiring, it looks like it is still intact. I was revving the engine and saw the power steering fluid bubbling in its container. Is that suppose to happen?
