Radio Code???

So I searched - didnt, quite find what I wanted to see, so I just want to ask again, to see if anyone has any new info to share.
Im about to buy a CD Change that came out of an 03 TL - I have a 2000 TLP and Im just plain sick of not being able to play burned CDs... So anyway, It doesnt look like I will be getting the radio code supplied with the purchase. Is Acura going to give me the code if I supply them with the S/N off of the unit??? I dont wanna get screwed with a big old charge for the service, it would kind of defeat a good deal on a new unit. Any comments would help greatly. Thanks~

Any reason why its not coming with the SECURITY code?
If you have an estableshed relationship with the service manager, just photcopy the back of the radio and ask for help
otherwise:
You need the serial number of the unit and the VIN number of the car it came out of, thats how acura tracks the units
Then the dealer service dept computer can access the code for you

i'm not saying it is, but when the seller doesn't have that information, its fishy and makes me think its stolen

OK hahaha this isnt a funny thing but I have to laugh cuz I was in the same shit 3 days ago.I unhooked my battery and i didnt knwo that the radio needed a code after.so I went to acura dealership and they wanted 120$ to "fix it". so I said F that shit and I called a dealership in British Columbia ( I live in alberta). they guy just wanted to know the serial number of teh stereo which you can find on a little sticker on the side of your glovebox when you open it, call the guy, give him the number and the gives you a code and everything takes 2 min.

Each year is different- some have stickers under fuse covers others have nothing

'Smart owners write it a few places in the car for the next guy,
and store it in your free acura.com account, keeps radio and nav codes for you in case you forget

DO NOT BUY anything that doesnt come with a working code-
guaranteed to work or sale and fees refunded

There are good aftermarket head units for the TL too
