pulley squeak = annoying
I got an UR crank pulley (stock diameter and belts) a few months ago. I had a kind of annoying squeak squeak squeak with the rhythm of the motor at idle/low rpms. Didn't have time to mess with it back then. Finally today, I decided to try spraying some belt dressing on the inside of each of the 2 belts. When I sprayed a little on the inside of the AC belt, the sound dissapeared completely....for about a minute or two. Now the sound is louder! There is no shriek when I give it gas so I know the belt isn't WAY too loose, but what else should I try? Maybe I should have the shop tighten them more? My car sounds like a freakin jalopy when Im pullin into my apartment complex!

There is no way to tighten that belt. Its got a auto tensioner. What king of belt did you use? Maybe try a new belt. Mine made noise once and i sprayed a dab of WD40 on it (all i had and it was pissing me off) and it hasnt since.

listen to the ac pulley with a mechanics stethascope- you will know if its got bad bearings!!
Use Gates belt on UR pulley

I had a shop put it on. I dunno what kind of belt but I am assuming a stock one since the pulley diameter is unchanged. It seems to be the ac belt because when I sprayed the other belt with the car running, it didn't change the sound any.

Well actually the squeeky sound is much louder (and constant instead of a steady rhythm) when I turn my AC on. I don't have a mechanics stethoscope. When I sprayed the ac belt the sound went away. When I got in my car an turned on the AC, the sound was still GONE. I would think this would not happen if the bearings were bad. Any reason why the belt dressing would only get rid of the sound for a minute or 2? Maybe I should just replace the belts.

spend 5 bucks on a mechanics stethascope
Listen to the various spinning parts to identify the culprit behind noises
Seems like gen2s are needing headlight bulbs, brake calipers and ac tensioners now.

UR pulley users should be using GATES brand belts, they fit better and run quiet

Agreed...rear calipers were recently dragging, so I replaced all four to be safe...tensioner went bad after installing the UR pulley, so that was replaced as well. The car has 93k, so maybe that's the life expectancy on those components...
