got into an accident recently and started leaking tranny fluid this is the only spot it’s leaking from but what is that black part? looks like it bolts in and i’m hoping that’s where and all it is causing the leak. can someone please help if they can what should my next steps be? base model 03 TL

Is the 'black part' you are referring to the one the red arrow is pointing to?
If so, that appears to be a broken axle shaft.
The yellow arrow may be pointing to #2 oil pressure cover or #36 sensor harness holder on the parts graphic below?
If it is the #2 oil pressure cover, than maybe #13 AT oil pressure switch assembly is leaking?

yes brotha !! thank you so freaking much!! i was definitely referring to the yellow arrow lol should’ve thought of doing that myself, but yes after further inspection , just from pick again because im at work currently, it does seem the be part #36. i got hit on that side, should i just start by going to junk yard and fining replacement piece or save myself the troubles and just get a new tranny??

You can try local salvage yards (search car-part.com for your location & models below) for #36 sensor harness holder; however, if a leak is coming from under that holder you are going to have check the #37 temperature (atf) sensor assembly &/or its #38 o-ring to assess any damage. 5AT Sensor - Solenoid - 2003 Acura TL 4 Door TL (NAVI) KA 5AT
