Passenger side headlight flickers

I have a 2000 3.2 TL with about 110K on the motor. I have recently been having problems with the passenger side headlight. When i start the car and turn on the lights, both of them will go on. However, most of the time the passenger side headlight will flicker and then just go out. I can sometimes keep turning on and off my headlights and that will make both go on. Can anyone help me with this??? i have taken it to an Acura dealer and a local mechanic shop but they say they can't find a problem or why it would be doing this.

you most likely need new bulbs. Many of us have replaced our gen2 bulbs in the last year. They alst 2500 hours or so, flashing them when off puts extra wear on them- like using them to signal merging trucks the all clear-
NOW I use my outer side- turn signal to let truckers know its ok to move over
Good aftermarket bulbs, Kaixen brand, are 109$ for pair from Excelerate
Thats a deal- the dealer gets 175$ per bulb!!
Some other brands on the bay- you get what you pay for sometimes in life~

STOP using the switch to get them on- thats going to burn up some very expensive ballast or other parts- they are not designed for that repeated Hi energy startup power!
Read up on how these HID Hi Intensity Discharge systems with ballast and stuff like the lights on telephone poles!

If you get a pink tint from a bulb on start- thats a death warning, so is flickering

PM Josh at Excelerate and order bulbs now-
the 5000k is close to stock color but with more blue=-that picks out road lane markings and signs well at night and rain

6000k is way more blue with less white light directly in front of the car, but awesome at picking out out the lane lines and signs- helpful to the weak night vision driver
Stock bulb color was 4300k

any moisture inside the headlight lens/housing???

These cars are famous for getting moisture in there, past a weak seal system from the lens to the plastic housing assembly-- then it drips down into the ballast and fries it!

acuraoemparts.com I'd buy my replacements there. I'm coming up with 9 years on the same bulbs. Darn good system.

yes the OE bulbs lasted a decent amount of time rob

AND Technology has come a LONG way since 1980s designs and manufacturing.
The use of better gasses and bases and sealing in certain- not all- but specific aftermarket brands- makes it well worth considering them

Personally I like the more blueish tint of the 5000k or 6000k bulbs compared to the stock 4300 with its slight hint of blue.
They pick out road lane markings and road signs from a greater distance IMO,
It has shocked passengers at night- who can see a freeway sign from farther away then they ever have before!

What are oe bulbs online priced at now?- at the dealer its $175 per bulb!
And you must replace them in pairs or significant differance will be noted.

Josh - Excelerate - has the special ziner deal at $109 for a pair- shipped! of Kaixen
Get the 5000 for normal drivers, the 6000 if you have poor night vision and need extra help from the reflective paint they use on the roads ,,,IMO disclaimer

Note: the bulbs lose brightness as they age, when you replace them... its like getting new glasses~
Average useable life 2500 hours. will last till about 3000 hours
Some things wear them out faster- like flashing them

Note2: New bulbs need a ~burn-in~ time of about 100 hours useage.
Then the color stabilzes and they actually get brighter!
Drive with your new lights on all the time to get them conditioned and working for you.
