make sure you mirror adjustment switch is on the mirror you wish to activate(i.e. set on the passenger mirror for the passenger mirror to tilt)

I think he is asking about the automatic downward movement when you shift into reverse.

I think we need more info.

Does the motor allow the mirror to move manually,
if yes then associated with connection made in engaging Reverse,
if no, it coud be the mirror motors.

Make sure the switch for the mirror adjustment is in the middle. If it's pointing to either the left or the right, the mirror won't tilt down when the transmission is put into reverse.

ok Hi again,

1. Yes the Mirror selector on the driver door IS set to the middle.
2. Yes the Mirror does move if I move in with the selector to right, and use the "touch pad"
3. Yes the Memory function IS working.

Also this problem happened gradually at first It would go half down (a few weeks ago)
now nothing

mirror

I am having the same problem. The switch is in the middle. I had this working till about 2 3 months ago. I installed yellow fog lights and then after about a week the mirror just stopped going down in R. I checked everything cause it was on the right setting and nothing. The mirror will move any direction. If I put the switch all the way to the right and the car is in drive the mirror will go down. But if the switch is in the middle and the car is in R it will not go down, Crazy???? Can anyone help us out. People have mentioned about the switch that it may be bad. I dont know. I was going to take it to the Stealership but they want $110 just to look at the car. I was told the switch cost about $25.

Nope. Only the passenger side should go down. It is called "curb assist". It helps you see the curb when parallel parking. You don't parallel park with the curb on the driver's side, only the passenger's side.

BTW people, we don't mind helping each other out, but if we have a little patience, we should go through all the threads before posting a problem. 9 times out of 10 we will find a thread that someone else started with the same problem. All we have to do is go to the next page of threads. There are several previous threads concerning this same problem.

I had a similar problem before. I suggest taking off the passenger door panel and checking out the wires and connectors.

When I did this I found out that one of the Wires were half way out of the connector and I had to push it back in, no problems since.
