Now that the weather is nice, I'd like to fix this starting issue

I've got an 2003 J32A2 from a TL-S and a 6speed from a 2003 CL-S in my 2000. I'm using Richie's harness to take care of my needs.

I've never really been able to get it started without the auto trans range switch plugged in. As you know, having the range switch plugged in removes my ability to have reverse lights and it also gives me a CEL for more than 2 range switches installed.

There was a point of time where I could start it without the range switch, but it made a chattering sound like the battery is dead before it would eventually start. Here's a video of that.

That was well over a year ago and it eventually just stopped starting at all. Time has went by and with me being in graduate school, I haven't had a chance to really address it. Now that the semester is almost over I'd like to figure out what's going on.

So what I did today was completely eliminate the purple wire shown below

and swap for a heavier gauge as pictured

soldered in (my soldering iron sucks but gets the job done)

So I tested it before trying to route the wires. The thicker gauge wire made it make a chattering noise before starting but it would at least start. I celebrated and got excited and then I routed the wire under the dash where the ECU is to my richie module and checked all connections. Nothing, just chatters and does not start. GRRRRRR

Here's what it's doing now.

What do I need to do?

That's really weird. I'm not sure how the Richie module works, but I hope someone can help you.

I've found now that I can unplug my range switch, while the car is already running, and after turning it off, I can start it 3-4 times before it doesn't start at all. It's really fucking weird. I've double checked all my wires on Richie's module too.

Have you talked to Richie? Maybe it has to do with your car being a 2000 and the wiring is slightly different (vs 02/03)? Sorry not much help.

Before I had the Richie module, I drove in limp mode with the range switch connected - but it had to be set to neutral if I remember correctly. With the Richie module, range switch out, all the lights on the dash went away (like it's supposed to) - yours seem to still be on? Makes me think you need to re-check the wiring to/from the Richie module.

Hopefully someone else can chime in and correct me if I'm wrong.
