Noice like a whistle ***
Hi all
This morning while driving my TL-P 02 ( 80k miles and original timing belt and pump) to work with the radio off , I heard a little noice like a whistle only if going 45mph and up !!!
Stop the car and rev up the engine and it's gone .The whistle only come back when going 45mph and up .
My question is if I'm having a bad bearing then which one ? Do you guys know how to test a bearing ?
Or maybe my water pump or belt are acting up ? It could not be the pump 'cause
reving up the engine in stop can not duplicate the whistle , right ?
Appreciate your inputs.Thanks

Noice could come from the bearing and even the transmission, but tranny will give you a high pitch when going faster. Going 45mph, with windows down which direction do you hear it come from? Tires will not create whistle sound, could it be bumper is loosing or something like that.

It maybe coming from your CAT. If your CAT has small hole(puncture hole)this can cause the whistling noise. When you just rev up your engine you won't be able to hear anything you have to be driving to hear the CAT make the whistle noise. I have this Problem, but it's not big deal.

I did bring it to Acura and did a road test with the service manager ...he had identified the
source right away .. it was driver side ront bearing ...and 300$ after the whissle is gone ...
