No oil jet kit?

It looks like I have a new tranny in the car because I called acura services and they told me the tranny recall was done on the car back in 04. I just got the car last week and I see the blue bolts, but what I forgot to check was the oil jet kit. It seems like I got a new tranny but the oil jet kit wasn't installed. The oil jet kit is supposed to be on the huge bolt that has a black bar but it doesn't have it? Any suggestions? WHat should I do?

okay. From what I understand, trannys that have an oil jet kit found to have some damage or burning. Ones that don't and have blue bolts mean that the tranny has been replaced. My question is, since the tranny recall was done back in 04', there means there won't be a problem anymore and car can be taken into dealer to install oil jet kit for free if they want to right? If the tranny were to fail, it won't be covered under warranty and will have to pay 4k to get it replaced. or, as of right now, I can take the car into the dealer and check for any damage or burns, if there are burns, they will install oil jet kit free of charge or I will have to pay. Kinda confusing, help me out here guys please.

you have a warranty replacement unit if blue bolt heads are visable on the trans itself

the oil jet kit went internal with the new case design released in 05 replacement units

Since, I just got the car last week with 85000 miles on it and the tranny was replaced in 04, i'm still covered under warranty?

stop worrying- you have a replacement trans,,when it was done is the question

for the recall-
they used a boroscope (fiber optic) camera to look thru the filler hole at 2nd gear parts.
if specific overheating from lack of oil was present-that trans was a danger to the driver as it could snap the gear shaft and stop from 70 very quickly

if damage found- replacement trans installed at no charge, done as warranty

if no damage present- they installed the kit which brings oil directly to those parts thru the normal oil filler hole on top of trans
that kit has nothing to do with the common problem of early 2nd and 3rd gear clutch pack failure

the 800 can tell you if covered by the 7 year plus 9 months/109kmiles (whichever first) trans warranty and when that expires

certain vins also have an odometer error- so they get covered to 114.5 miles
ask acura about all things affecting your ride,,past warranty repairs??..

reg online and look up yourself http://owners.acura.com/registration...erstepone.aspx
need cars vin of course~ can store radio nav codes there for safety

if you are `covered vin` (not all 03s are) the warranty goes with the car AS LONG AS its not salvage-rebuilt title car

so if inside time limits- you are still covered if it fails

do the online registration- its a different system than the 800, you see your cars actual info, has access to the online owner manual and more

the 800 sends out recall notices,,keep your address current with them
the new recall for airbag inflator is getting low response rate from TL owners at large

online one- look in section RECALL- if it says trans extended warranty OPEN, you are covered vin--
that end vin came from a court case, they needed a car to settle the case so one was picked- there was no fix at that time,,was only for legal purpose on the vins

uh oh, not covered vin
be glad you got a trans under warranty then!!

start now on a yearly 3 qt drain and refill of trans fluid, thats about the best protection you can give it
AND
stay off the SS mode for downshifting into 2nd or 3rd--those are the weak points of the system, keep them cool and they last a lot longer
abuse them and they will let you know!
