Thumbs up NO MORE TRANNY PROBLEMS >> THNX ACURA!!!!!

So if you guys read my post , further down the page, I had transmission problems with my 2003 TL-S. Took it into Superior Acura in KC on Saturday. Told them what is wrong, and this morning they called me and told me I needed a new transmission. They said it was about $$3600. But they told me that they were going to call Acura Client Services and see what they could do about helping me out since it had been replaced ( maybe they only put the Jet kit on idk) 30,000 miles before.

I did not have the extended warranty, merely the 1 yr 12,000 mile. warranty which I was well passed, since I am the 2nd owner of the car.

I dont know whether it was my slick NY talking or they felt sorry because I am 20, but they told me tonight they are going to replace the transmission for NOTHING. NO COST WHATSOEVER!!! I was amazed.

SUPERIOR ACURA IN KC is AWSOME.

thanks to all who responded to my post you were all helpful and right.

Thats why we buy Acura..most dealers stand behind the products they sell. Try doing that at Ford or Chevy..they would tell you to suck on something.

Ive heard good things about that dealership from a guy at work who is from KC and dealt with them before.....congrats man..enjoy your new tranny!!

Wow! That's great news. Congratulations on the new, and free, transmission.

And the new transmission may last a very long time since it has the latest revisions.

Dude that is freakin awesome!!!! Now that you have a new tranny with the revised version you dont have to worry about failure anymore and considering everything else on the TL lasts forever you are good to go dude.

I'm confused. Are you over 100k miles? Because Acura hasn't done anything for you out of the ordinary.

Also, your "new" tranny isn't exactly bullet proof. They still have problems.

Sure they have, after the recall, Acura gave a 1 yr 12,000 mile warranty on the recall. You would have to get the extended warranty which will cover you up till 100,000. Acura Client services explained this to me on the phone. I also mentioned that I'm the second owner which, I'm not sure plays an important role on warranty. It isn't everyday that Acura gives away a $3600 tranny.
They also replaced a damaged motor mount too!!! said it could have been caused by the transmission, idk.
I have heard that this tranny is supposed to be a pretty good, havn't heard of any problems yet, time will tell I guess.

You're right. Not "a" $3600 tranny. But MANY $3600 trannies... there are lots of people getting them replaced.

well thats good news to me because i have a 03 tls with about 50,001 miles on it, and i am not covered under the extended transmission warranty. If i have any issues im about 30 minutes from superior acura and i have got great service from them in the past.
