Most pf us have been there or will be lol... I just got mine replace a few weeks ago. I would ask around various shops in your area before making a choice. Get various quotes. Rebuilt vs used. Whatever works in your budget. Sorry dude.

honestly if I were you i'd trade it in as is asap, you could look at getting a used transmission for around $600 but then you're looking at 7+ hours of labor or about 500-600 to have it put in at a private shop. I just had a scare, thought my trans was shot was just the shift solenoid and I went though the pricing around my area (green bay, wi) and that is what I found on a budget

all gen2 had a recall to install an external oil jet kit for 2nd gear shaft
plus we got an extended warranty to 7.9yrs /109kmiles
If you dont know if this was done- call acura with cars VIN number 1-800-382-2238 x5
They can tell you if the recall was performed
there are a few recalls out- they will ck if you still need any of them
If the oil jet was never installed there is a slight chance of a free trans from acura if there is certain heat damage to trans from not having that kit
If not- you can trade the car as is- expect 2000 less for it than whatever low number a dealer would pay
Private sale- spend 2500 for a rebuild on your unit
Or see if acura will do a Goodwill with you- if you have repair maitenance history at dealer or bought 5 cars from them- they might hook you up
