Is My Tranny Dying or Am I over-reacting?
So I had my transmission rebuilt at 136k miles in my 03 TL-S. The car now has 172k on it. Recently I've had the following issues. Within the past month two-three times when I've gone from 1->2 the car failed to shift and seemed like it was in neutral, so the engine would rev then suddenly it would *bang* into gear and go. Now today it's been having issues going from first to second gear in a different manner. When going slowly in first and approaching the point where the car is about to shift into second I get a bang type feeling and it shifts into second. This occurred when I was driving up a ramp in the parking garage and in traffic this morning.
My question is: Whether my transmission is going to fail completely or is there some other reason why it would be doing this.
I took the car in three weeks ago because it was leaking tranny fluid. The acura dealership subbed it out to a local tranny shop (who rebuilt the tranny) and they fixed the issue. I then took it in two weeks ago because of the issues I described above. They kept the car for three days and they stated that they did not experience anything wrong with it.
Any comments or helpful insight is highly appreciated.

Thirty lookers and no opinions.
Here's an update if anyone cares. I was driving home and all of sudden my VSA exclamation point, check engine light and VSA light below the check engine light came on and have not gone off. I called up the tranny shop and they are going to take it back in.
Anyone have this experience?

why would the dealer sub out trans leak? thats pretty much unheard of!
what exactly was wrong- what did they claim to fix? charged you $?
its possible the times they started the car and drove around the bldg over 3 days and it didnt act up,, isnt that strange
If its doing it now- and with all the lights and potential codes...
at least I was not the first bearer of bad news

It was subbed out for the rebuild. The warranty is up in like two months. So I am in time. I've paid $0 to fix it so I can't complain. Looks like I'll be getting another rebuild soon.

still not making sense
acura has rebuilt units it gets thru their system of rebuilder shops/warehouse
and install complete trans units
they dont sub out a rebuild, especially as warranty
whats the backstory here?

If you read my thread i said it was rebuilt at 136k miles. Acura of Peabody did not do the rebuild they subbed it out to another company FNA transmissions. And since you seem to know everything you would know Acura only warrantied the transmission for 7 years 100k miles. Thus, as mine was replaced at 136k I had to pay out of pocket. Accordingly, my car now has 172k on it and is still covered under warranty from the rebuild. Whereas Acura sent it back out to FNA transmissions because they rebuilt it and warrantied it.

if you are trying to get smart with me:
the warranty is actually 7 years plus 9 months, or 109kmiles- 114.5 kmiles for `odometer error Vin` cars- whichever occurs first
so acura made money by subbing out the work-
odd, but they do whatever to make a buck as the middleman- over you going direct to the trans shop
You did not indicate what warranty came with the rebuild..36k being average and you being right at that... correct? 136+36= 172?
Its possible to get goodwill assistance from acura- partial or total coverage out of limits-
I have seen 145kmiles and approved for full coverage!!

If you are having problems with your car, and the mechanic can't replicate the problem, drive around with a video camera in the car. When it acts up, pull over (be safe) and video tape it. Take care of this ASAP, as you don't know if they will play friendly after your warranty is up. Failing to shift, a loud bang, and neutral revs are all signs of tranny failure.
