My TL wont go past 40.
I bought a tl 5 months ago it was running strong after I bought it then after that it started to act up and now it doesn't move. I'm fixing it now it starts and all but it does not take gas in to well. So if anybody has suggestions on what it might be I'll take them. Thanks

the engine control the ECU controls Limp mode.. if it thinks there is something major wrong, like an engine overrev,,possible bent valves,,
which can be false codes if the trans is slipping and makes the ecu think its too fast rpm.
that will limit rpm to approx 2500 so you can `limp` off the road to a safe parking place and call for help
its not the trans that makes the decision~
could be a number of things if you have been working on the car and its been sitting
We need more info
can you get to a parts store or go there and borrow (with refunded deposit) a code reader- then they tell you what codes it says- plugs in behind shifter
We can help translate codes into actual problem

try removing the CLOCK fuse on passenger side end of dash- after a minute reinsert it
thats the secret backup power to ecu and will force a master reboot of the system
