Misfiring Cylinder and CEL ON -- Please help folks

Hi, I have a 2001 Acura 3.2 TL with 162,000 miles on it. I had CEL and TCS lit last week while driving on highway at 70 mph. The codes were for misfiring cylinders: P0340, P0350, P0360, P0300 & P0740(some malfunction in transmission). The car is running absolutely smooth and I don't have any loss in the power, no vibration on idle or running. I went to guy who specializes in Acuras & Hondas. He checked the spark plugs and coils and said he both of them were fine and there is nothing he feels is wrong with the car. He reset the CEL and told to come back if its on again. Meanwhile I put 2 bottles of GUMOUT - COMPLETE FUEL SYSTEM CLEANER in two tanks full. I also switched from BP regular gas to SHELL premium with 93 octane. After driving around 250 miles. This time the codes are: P0340, P0360, P0300 & P1399. As you can see, cylinder 5 misfire code didnt show up this time and so did transmission malfunction code. Instead I got P1399. I am really confused and worried about my TL. Any help towards identifying the problem will be heartily appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

I would suggest u do the EGR port cleaning and seafoam oil/vac port/fuel see if that fix your misfiring issue if not do a leak down test. P0740 basicly means your tranny needs a rebuilt

P0740 - Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Malfunction
P0340 - Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
P0360 - Ignition Coil J Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
P0300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
P1399 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected

regular gas is your first prob,,getting rid of the crud it left behind will take more than gumout- especially so highly diluted

Try 1 can Seafoam to just under half a tank = 8 gallons

you get no idle issues at all? smooth....revs always come back the same at idle?
test the coils by removing power wire at coil and looking for rpm change/drop
no drop = bad coil

google the codes or look them up in our list -see the diy section
its the 3rd item down the main gen2 list after you signed in
codes are CLUES not diagnosis in themself--
they have to be put together in your head to make a good guess at the prob

a front O2 sensor would be reasonable if you ran 87 a long time
buy Denso brand, its OE maker and plug and play

you have the correct 8 dollar each ngk plugs?
were they removed and inspected for wear?
how did the tech ck these things for you?

based on mileage I would clean the intake manifolds' EGR port and passage system
it clogs up from exhaust crud--made worse from low octane gas, usually needed every 75kmiles
easy diy

Thanks vale76! I'll go for the EGR port cleaning. Transmission was rebuild at 120K and is looking fine at the moment.

Thanks 01tl4tl!! I really appreciate your suggestions. I am new here and new to TL as well...got it last month from my cousin. The car has been babied and all scheduled maintenance done on time. It was on premium gas till 100K after that regular till now -- so have about 62000 on regular gas which might be the culprit. Do you think this mileage can cause the O2 sensor to fail? I don't have the time and tools to do the checks myself...so i went to an Acura specialist who claims he did the checks on plugs and coils -- I dont know if it was visual or performance check.

I am gonna put a can of Seafoam next and take it back to that guy to recheck the make on the plugs, coils, O2 sensor and clear the EGR passage and manifolds.

I am sorry, I am new here and couldn't find the DIY for cleaning EGR port and passage system. Could you please list the procedure here or provide any link if possible? Please advise.

I appreciate all your efforts....its really helpful  Hope everything works out..I really worried about all this...
