Metal scrape sound front passenger side
What’s up everyone, I have a 2000 Acura TL 3.2. 130,000. But theres a light metal scraping sound coming from the right passenger side. I had the front break pads and right wheel bearing replaced 2 days ago because it was recommended by my backyard mechanic. Yet the sound came back after disappearing for 1 day of driving . It normally makes the sound after I accelerate over 20 mph and when I take sharp right turns...what could this issue be?

Three Wheelin'
Check the heat shrouds behind the brake disks. They bend easily and when too close to the disks will make the noise you describe. You can bend them away slightly with your fingers.
If it were a bearing issue, I would be suspect of the LEFT one since that's the one that takes the load during right turns.

*update*
Replaced both wheel bearings and front rotors and pushed the brake dust panels back a little bit the noise died down a lot but I can still hear a grind/whine as the car slows down and a slight hiss/scratch from both rotors as I increase speed. Also the front rotors get really really hot after driving short distances.

Hey, is the sound coming continously for you, or more as a pulse? I just did my front rotors and pads, and my front drivers side wheel is making a pulsing mild scraping sound.... so I'm thinking for my case it's likely not the shield.

Burning Brakes
Hey Arkady, when you did the front brakes, did you, by chance, examine the (slider pins)? I recently had two different noises, coming from the left front, on light brake application, both a clicking type noise, and a rubbing type noise. Turned out, the bottom slider pin was dry, causing the caliper to drift, creating the noises.

I definitely did not check those for dryness! Will generic grease work there, or should I get fancy and get some Honda-specific stuff?
I'll take a look at those this weekend when I have time to lift the car up again.
