Unhappy Led brake bulbs: warning light comes on.. HELP!

So i just changed out my stock brake light bulbs in the tailights and put in LED bulbs. i turned on the car and i got a warning light telling me my brake lights are out... This is obviously not true so i tried resetting the fuse but that didnt work... Does anyone know why this is happening? And what can i do to fix it? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

^^^ bound to happen....

bulbs have higher resistance than the LED....One way to fix it is put a resistor along with the led....

other way (the easier way) is to replace the led with the bulb

yes- you forgot to install the resistors at each brake light
for today, pop the old bulbs back in

the lower power draw of the LED bulbs tricks the system into thinking a bulb is out
You can buy fancy ones online or make your own from radio shack parts
See DIY section on LEDs for more info, but thats the prob/solution
Will happen to the turn signals if you change them too,,will blink super fast

Learned this on my motorcycle when upgrading the lighting- resistors needed!!

^^^

either use t-taps (i personally hate those)....

other options is splice, cut, solder, insulate

resistors always go in parallel so find out the wire for the bulb and connect that between the +ve and the ground....

also I dont know which resistor applies to you as I have an 05....check out the section 01tl4tl was mentioning....

I had to do this on my switchback turn signals.get some resistors 10ohms is plenty. I used ttaps and tape it on the flat side to somewhere safe cuz these get hot as shit..also no regular bulbs in while resistors are in or bad things will happen 3g tl forum has DIY fairly similar

ck online
there are new design resistors--possibly ceramics are involved- that dont get hot
and will serve 2 or 4 bulbs thru one unit,, with 1 ground wire for all and the power leads to tap into the bulb power
