How to remove front drive axles?

I've got everything removed to properly take out the drive axles out of my 1999 Acura 3.2 TL but how do I remove the axle from the transmission and the intermediate shaft. It appears that they will probably have to be pryed out but its tough to pry them out on jack stands with nothing to pry against. Anybody have a few pointers to save me some time?

Flathead screw driver or prybar between the axle and the trans. Same goes for the passenger side (unless you take the whole thing out as a whole, then you need to remove the 3 bolts that hold the intermediate shaft carrier to the motor. DO NOT pull hard on the axles or you may separate them inside.
