on my last fillup, i got 300 miles on 13 gallons of gas.. so i'm probably around 400 on a tank. speaking of which, once our low gas light goes on, how many gallons of gas is there left in reserve? 2.2 gal?

My low gas light came on the other day just as I was pulling into the filling station. The most I could get into the tank was 14.3 gallons, which says the light comes on with about three gallons left in the tank. I get around 300 miles per tank (22 mpg) in pretty much city driving (TL-S, no mods).

Last tank was about 400 miles on 89 octane. Most of the driving was cruise control at 80mph on the turnpike. Have about 2/3 tank left now and about 275 miles...mostly city driving.

Properly inflated tires DO make a difference.

I can get about 450 if I use the cruise on the highway at about 70mph and thats taking it till the light comes on. I normally get about 365 to a tank and that includes little jaunts to 85-90 here and there and city driving. I don't like to run it down to the light comes on but I cannot see me getting much better then 460. The car is just to much fun to drive at high speeds to worry about gas mileage.

Last tank, i filled up around...13.9 gallons, and ran nearly 310 miles when the lights came on, but i didn't know how much would be left after the lights came on so i refilled again but only took about 13.1 gallons to fill up the whole tank. On websites i read that the 03 TL should be able to eat up 17 gallons...so which means that i still have about 3 gallons left after the lights come on??

I got 395 last tank 87 octane. Took me 3 weeks to use the tank since the TL sits most of the time now. Driving the Camry now, 540-650 miles per tank every tank of 87 octane.

All highway, conservative driving, and driving some past the gas light could feasibly yield 550 miles on one tank. It has been done. It isn't unusual for people with TL-Ps to get 33-34mpg on the highway, and running past the gas light a little bit would yield in the 540s. It can be done.

I usually get little over 350 miles until the empty light comes on. This is 60 freeway / 40 local driving.

This is one of the problems with using the meaningless 'miles per tank' measurement.

on premium gas, driving in houston, i get up to about 275 before the light comes on. consider i have a little bit of a heavy foot sometimes when someone pisses me off. which is almost every day when i drive to the University of Houston on I-45.

the high numbers are completley possible.

if i keep the rpms below 3k i can see 400+ no problems, but wheres the fun in that?

My best freeway-only driving is like 475 from full to E. Mixed driving get about 350 per tank.

Tire pressure does make a lot of difference!!!
