how do you raise your wipers off windshield?
Our wipers have had this problem since we go it. The passenger side will not tilt up off the windshield without scraping the edge of the hood. It has removed a good 1/2" of paint in that area as a result. The only way the wiper will clear the hood is to forcefully pull the arm up outof its resting position and then bend the arm.
Anyone else have this problem, or does it sound like we have a wiper motor/trans/arm problem?
I ask because the wipers also are 'not right' when on either. They either only wipe 90% of the windshield, or 110% and SLAM back down to their resting point.

This is not a design flaw. The wipers are partially recessed to reduce wind noise. Do you really think Acura would overlook something like that? Okay don't answer *cough*transmission*cough*
Anyway, you get to the wipers you can do what was suggested about turning the ignition on and then off mid-swing. But you can also blip the wiper stalk into the mist position (down) and cause the wipers to come up enough and stop to lift the blades.

My wipers never touch the paint from the hood. There must be a misadjustment with yours.
But I can say that you must always lift the driver's wiper at first before the passenger's side. Otherwise you cannot lift them both.
