Headlight problem... Please help, Thank you!!!
Hi my name is chris, this is my first post in this wonderful community. Basically, my drivers side low beam H.I.D. headlight was turning on sometimes, and sometimes not. When the headlight didn't turn on it would make a brrrrrr noise. Then, (and I know how bad this is) I would quickly turn my headlights on and off a few times, and for the majority of the time the drivers side light would then come on! So of couse i did this for a few weeks until it just wouldn't turn on or even make the brrrrrr noise. I have been looking through the forums and can't find anything on this.

sounds like its a ballast issue
is there moisture inside the headlight housing lens?
if so, that drips down and out onto the ballast--killing it
You can get aftermarket- sealed waterproof ballast to replace
Likely time for bulbs too- we are at that age where they burn out--
death warning is pink or purple tint at startup from lights
always replace in pairs!

to see if its a bulb or ballast prob- swap the bulbs left to right and see if the problem follows the bulb

So there is a little more to the story. About a year ago my ex gf crashed my car. They replaced both headlight assy. both light bulbs, both ballasts, ect... basically there were all kinds of problems since. When I initally left I could tell one headlight was brighter than the other. they definantly put a 5k or 6k bulb in. The driver side buld looked pink before it went out. I am thinking of installing either a 50w or 35w aftermarked d2r HID kit...

I just replaced my low beam bulbs and ballast on my 2002 TL-S with aftermarket from HID-Extra. I ordered he 5000K and they do have a bluish tint to them now which is not what I wanted but they didn't list a 4300K which is original. I had water inside the passenger side lens and after inspection, water in the ballast. I am currently trying to take it apart b/c I understand it can be repaired if not burned.
Check the bulbs as suggested by01tl4tl. The instructions I found in the DIY section on this site and another acura site did not match my experience. The bulb covers did not show the direction in which to turn to remove but discovered the top of the cover turns toward the fender so they turn opposite from each other. I also did not have to remove the air cleaner assy, even though I did. I Just had to remove the 2 plastic diverters (?) in front of the cleaner assy. The bumper has 2 screws on each side in front of the wheel, the body fasteners underneath and a clip on each side between the bumper and fenders. The clip was hidden and took me some time to find it. Just be careful when getting the bumper off of this clip so you won't tear the part of the bumper held in by the clip. Hope this helps.
