finally changed the trans fluid

sorry, no pics.

finally got to drain out the old fluid, man was it dark! did the ol' drain and fill process until the fluid was that pure cherry syrup color. my car rides so much smoother and shifting in the sport shift is almost like keeping it in auto d5 it shifts so smooth.

after every drain and fill i ran through the gears r n d5-1 then repeat the other way and drove it for a while.
the guy supervising was a transmission guru, he was trained by the richard petty school and worked for The King and knew almost everything about cars so i trusted his judgment and knowledge.
anything i should watch out for now?

the clutch packs for 2nd and 3rd to lose their grip --
if the fluid washed away the crud holding the particles together

did you use all honda ATF?

only need to do the up and down thru the gears a few times.. within 5 minutes driving-
thats per acura
keeps the under car temp down so you can work, and lessens old and new fluid mixing

yeah i used all Honda/Acura ATF

i wasnt the one to put Dex3 in there anyways, i thank the dipstick transmission failures who did that before i bought it

but its all good now

Consider replacing the external filter too.

ahh good point total'd--the external filter

Im not used to that thing yet--since it wasnt a normal replacement item before, now ziners on are on it and the selenoids,,,little things to keep it running a long time
