Engine won't start
Hi. I got problem starting my car on 99TL. My ignition switch was replaced in last summer and the starter too. Battery is read at 12.68 Volts. The car start and crank but it's just die right after the crank. I check with the code reader but it say no code. So what is the problem could be? I read in other thread about crank sensor that cause the issue, Anyone has ever did DIY or replace it? Any input will be thanked in advance. I will report back when I fix the problem.

Check all the vacuum lines, wiring connections, grounds and relays.
It may help if you could have the electrical/starting system load tested.
How long has it been since your plugs were replaced ? TL's prefer NGK !
You may also want to have the fuel pressure checked as the motor may be starving.

Most auto parts stores will provide the electrical system load test for free with their equipment and even give ya a printout !
It may not be the fuel pump. It could be a dirty filter sock on the pump restricting flow, or an iffy relay. Have ya tried running some fuel system cleaner through the gas ? Sometimes it'll help lazy injectors. Another thing is the fuel pressure regulator.

Before I thought car run under perform at lower speed and thought it's was normal because of my high mileage on my car.
Thanks again.

Thanks for following up with the results, as this helps others with a similar problem.
Be thankful that you had a good mechanic who treated you very fairly, these kind of guys are worth their weight in gold. If the EGR and intake have not been cleaned recently, have him do this and you'll be good to go another 100k or until the tranny dies. Did ya do the t-belt and plugs ?
Oh, just realized that ya have a '99, maybe ya can go indefinitely with some proper attention to PM !!!

Thanks. That's should everyone do the report back so always good result will help other.
Yes. Timing belt, water pump other maintenance up to date. Transmission rebuilt 70k ago so knock on wood and Plan to keep it at least 5 years just keep fixing here and there. I've own this car for 7 years already during my ownership and spend around $1000 in fixing other than regular maintenance. To break it down $150 a year is not bad.
Thanks you for always helping out a lot of people here and you are the real asset to A-zine.
