Engine Stalled

Engine Stalled
I have a 99 TL with 96K miles. 2nd owner since 2004. Transmission was replaced by dealer about 3 months ago. In the last 2 months, the car stalled 3 times while driving. Was able to restart the car each time luckily. Took it to the dealer about 3 weeks ago, they were not able to duplicate the stalling. No repair was done. However, it stalled again yesterday. I tried to duplicate the stalling without success. But did notice that I had the AC on during each time it stalled. Any advice will be appreciated.

I'll bring the car to the dealer to find out about the ignition switch. I am not sure if it was replaced. With engine stalled several time in 2 months, they should be able to determine what the problem is.

If they cant get it to happen its hard for them to know what the problem is. When it stalls is it happening while driving or is it happening when your letting off the gas or at a stop light?

The TL engine stalled again this eveneing when I was driving into a shopping center parking lot. I guess I was easing up on the gas. Of the 5 engine stalls in the last 2 months, 3 or 4 stalls happened when I or my wife was slowing down at a stop light. One time was cruising on the freeway at 70 mph. In this case, I noticed my navigator was acting funny. Luckily, I was able to drive the TL to the right shoulder of the freeway without engine power. After a few minutes, I was able to start the car and drove it home.
Tonight, at the parking lot, I have AAA towing the TL ACURA dealership.

Sounds like the RPM is just dropping to low. It may be a faulty IAC

The local ACURA service was able to get the TL stalled when the service tech was driving the car for the second day. Determined it was the ignition switch (Baker switch on the repair invoice). Had the ignition switch replaced with new part, 35130-S84-305. This switch was supposedly replaced during the last recall in May 2002, prior to my ownership. The service tech did indicate that this is common problem with the old switch, so the Servce dept has the new part in stock. Hope this fixed the stalled problem.
On a side note. There was a complaint launched against an ACURA dealership falsifying recall repair. The owner was able to produce the photo of the supposed replaced switch. It had a photo of the old part, 35130-S84-A01 indicating that it was never replaced.

My 1999 TL is one its third ignition switch. The first one was replaced under the recall. I replaced the second one recently after I started getting low RPM stalls and starting problems. So the replacement switches can also develop problems.
I just took a look at the old ignition switch and I couldn't find a part number on it.
