Driving Power Hiccup and NAV issue

Hey all,
I have a 2007 Acura TL Type S with 230k on it. In the past year, while driving, my car will turn off for a half second and then back on at least once per hour long drive.

When it does turn off, it resets the clock to 1:00 before adjusting to the correct time. The other time it does this is when turning the car off (will explain). Turning the key should cut the engine and leave the interior lights on. Instead, it cuts everything, including interior lights and accessories. I tested this, turning the key very slowly, and in that instance, it'll carry on as it did when it was newer.

Is this the ignition switch? Battery? Or a whole host of issues?

Also, my NAV stopped letting me use AUX about a year ago, then stopped letting me use navigation, then doesn't do anything but let me enter the PIN code to turn it on.

I love the car and would hate to see it go but eating batteries and the electrical issues is starting to wear on me. Where would you start?

Battery terminals are loose or corroded

Thanks, I'll check those this afternoon.

Is lack of power/bad connection also causing the NAV issues?

it could be.

when troubleshooting, always check one or move one item at time.
that way you know if the battery was causing the nav issue...

Check the battery!!

Thank you all. I'll check back in after I've further tested the issue.

@thoiboi: you were right. Terminals were terribly oxidized. Used a battery brush and it was good to go. Noticeable power increase and no shut offs on the drive home. Do you all have rep points in this forum that I can dish out?

I also figured out the NAV issue. Years of brake dust made its way into the DVD/NAV system in the trunk and coated the disk. First time I had ejected it since buying the car. Cleaned it with a microfiber towel and it was good to go.

The only issue remaining is why the Tape / CD / Aux doesn't work. AM / FM / XM work but the others aren't even able to be selected via the NAV or center console controls.

glad you were able to resolve the issue gary!

The thanks button is good enough for my ego

As for the CD/Tape/Aux issue, there should be two pin codes: one for the NAV and one for the radio, make sure you input both!
