driver side back seat heater!

in the four years i've had my car i never knew the back had heat til i started reading all about this on here so figured it cant be that hard. so i rip my seat out get the leather off and find a burn mark right away but it looks as though the wire is still in tack. Is this the problem? Do I need to replace this portion of the wire? or is it something else? any help would be greattt

It doesn't look "intact" in that pic... use an ohm meter to verify resistance, I think around 5 ohms.
Definitely need to replace that section of wire.

I'm in the same boat, never realized the back had a heater. Have added it to my to do list!

pretty commen , also once you do "fix" it, check the resistence again, before putting every thing back together, i had to replace more of the wire then just the burnt area
