DIY oxidized door pillars

So I was getting ready to paint (with a can) the door pillars. I looked a little closer at it and noticed it was like a scaling look to it so I used my thumb nail and some came off. I just did my headlights with the Turtle Wax head light restore kit ($9.00 at walmart) I figured I'd give it a try on the door pillars. Worse case I'd have to paint it anyways.

So heres some before and after pics.

I think it came out pretty good. And it only took me about 30mins to do all 4.

so it was actually just a corrosion buildup you were able to get rid of! Nicely done!

Yep I thought it was just faded. It's still not 100% show quality but hey it did good enough for me plus I would have had to sand it down anyways to paint it LOL.

Thanks
