Unhappy Difference in Acura TL transmissions?

Im trying to replace my transmission with a used one and iv'e come across a problem. The transmission i had in my car looks like the first picture, it has a "supposed" power steering sensor. ( i linked what it looks like below or here https://www.acurapartswarehouse.com/...0-p8e-a01.html) is that part required? i recently purchased a transmission and and it appears like the second picture ( the one labeled 0669). is there a work around or are the connections that fit into the missing part just outlets somewhere else on the transmission. To be honest im not even sure what that part does. when i took my transmission apart that piece had gears at the bottom of it.

in the pictures the part is at the utmost left of the transmission about halfway up.

it is labeled as #15 or Acura Part No.: 56500-P8E-A01

TL;DR

got as transmission that is not identical to my previous one and not sure what to do with the connections that previously went there.

Hi!

it appears you have a 2000 Acura Premium model, whereas the replacement transmission you are looking at does NOT have the power steering sensor is likely from a type S or perhaps (HOPEFULLY) Accord. Reason I say accord is that it's well known around here that people run as fast as they can from used Acura TL transmissions and gravitate toward the Accord transmission which has revised internals and components that give it excellent longevity.

First things first; get the model number of the transmission that you are interested in / bought; it's labeled right on the front. I believe that your car has an M7WA (which contains this power steering component).

here is a list of transmissions: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_H5_transmission

You can go with a B7WA (Tl type S) or even better a BAYA (from the accord V6); you will need to create a coupling for the hoses that come into this part to create a loop that bypasses it altogether.

What you lose from doing a bypass: some power steering sensitivity at low speeds; look up the "AV6 swap threads" (they are the most viewed in this sub forum) where others with premium models replace theirs in a similar way and have no problem giving this away in exchange for a bullet proof transmission replacement.

Sorry to plug-in on this thread.
Has anyone tried replacing this speed sensor (DIY)? I have been told that my power steering not being power assisted at low - parking lot speeds once car has ran for few miles is related to this sensor. I am not sure how to access this to replace it.
Is it ok to bypass this sensor entirely?
I don't have good (low cost) mechanics around me that would do this for me.
Thanks,
N M.
